The call of duty needs answering once again, as the blockbusting first person shooter series returns to the modern day. Watch your squad grow from inexperienced rookies to veteran warriors A snowmobile race is just one of the new vehicle sections. Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to Call of Duty 4. You'll journey all around the world in the fight against terrorism.
Modern Warfare 2 features an even more varied series of locales than the ever before, including a snowbound enemy camp that starts with a daredevil mountain climb across the ice before a stealthy infiltration goes awry and you have to run for your life by commandeering a snowmobile.
But that's just the single player mode - the multiplayer will be even more ground-breaking than before, with new co-op options and even more rewards and perks for competitive play.

- Rough guide: Massive globe-spanning adventure sees you travelling to the deserts of Afghanistan, the slums of Rio de Janerio and the wilderness of Russia.
- Bigger world: New larger levels allow you to tackle missions however you want: will you try a frontal assault or a more stealthy approach from another angle?
- Special co-op: New Special Forces mode will introduce two player co-operative play for the first time, in a series of non-story missions.
- Be the best: Competitive multiplayer is even bigger and better than before, with all-new rewards for everyone from raw recruits to the most experienced players.

This is a refurbished awesumer-upped version of cod mw1. Campaign Is short but multiplayer is where the game really shines. Even multiplayer splitscreen is good with the leveling system. I got this game a bit later than released so I have bad guns on lvl 19 while some guys are prestige 2 lvl 70 and I'm forced to play against them.
Apart from that spec ops I bad as in my opinion and graphics 9/10.
Woo go snow mobils.

Awesome, awesome game! A superior follow-up to the first Modern Warfare with a much-tighter, balls-to-the-wall single player, and the usual fantastic, addictive multiplayer.

Call of Duty 4 set the bar high for shooter bad sadly modern warfare 2 failed to raise it any more, instead it stayed essentially the same but with new maps and weapons. The only thing they added was spec ops but you can only do that with a friend no matchmaking, and it's just not addicting enough. Sure it all looks new and flashy. But once you get passed the new weapons, it becomes more and more of cod 4. I didn't want a prolonged cod 4 experience, I wanted Infinity ward to WOW us and raise the bar. The game is also filled with a lot of development errors such as, Pixelated shadows, terrible water effects etc. Overall the gameplay is good but it just feels like a bit of DLC for cod 4 to me.
Graphics:
The Graphics In modern warfare 2 are very detailed and pretty due to the new texture streaming technology, however there are a few design errors that ruin it a bit.
Mutliplayer:
Multiplayer is fun but is still too much of the same gameplay as cod 4, lacks the WOW effect that CoD 4 had. Matchmaking is terrible on consoles but works well on PC. I play xbox 360 and PC. The xbox matchmaking searches for all games that has a ping of 250 and under i believe and joins one at random, resulting in terrible lag. The PC matchmaking is much better, it searches for all games at 50 ping attempts to join before raising ping cap by 10, It repeats this process until a game is found. I always have full or 1 bar off ping on the PC. I FIND IT HARD TO BELEIVE THAT MATCHMAKING WITH 300K PPL WILL GET ME WORSE PINGS THEN A FEW THOUSAND. It is ridiculously annoying.
Overall score:
6/10
Final thoughts:
- Lacking wow moments
- More of the same game
- Annoying matchmaking
- Hiccups in design.
+Gameplay is still addictive and amusing.

Cod Mod 2 is good example of a console Shooter and is a relatively OK game. However, the COD series multiplayer has let us all down yet again with uncompetitive play, bad respawns and game types, numerous bugs/glitches and the spray and pray mentality of all of the other COD games.
