The call of duty needs answering once again, as the blockbusting first person shooter series returns to the modern day. A direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, you now play new character Sgt Gary "Roach" Sanderson. Your commander is "Soap" from the first game as you join a multinational anti-terrorist squad out to stop Russian ultra nationalists.
Please note: Videos require Macromedia Flash Player 7 or higher
Watch your squad grow from inexperienced rookies to veteran warriors A snowmobile race is just one of the new vehicle sections. Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to Call of Duty 4. You'll journey all around the world in the fight against terrorism.
Modern Warfare 2 features an even more varied series of locales than the ever before, including a snowbound enemy camp that starts with a daredevil mountain climb across the ice before a stealthy infiltration goes awry and you have to run for your life by commandeering a snowmobile.
But that's just the single player mode - the multiplayer will be even more ground-breaking than before, with new co-op options and even more rewards and perks for competitive play.
- Call of Warfare: Stunning cinematic action, including new underwater missions, new gadgets such as the motion detector and new vehicles including snowmobiles and more.
- Rough guide: Massive globe-spanning adventure sees you travelling to the deserts of Afghanistan, the slums of Rio de Janerio and the wilderness of Russia.
- Bigger world: New larger levels allow you to tackle missions however you want: will you try a frontal assault or a more stealthy approach from another angle?
- Special co-op: New Special Forces mode will introduce two player co-operative play for the first time, in a series of non-story missions.
- Be the best: Competitive multiplayer is even bigger and better than before, with all-new rewards for everyone from raw recruits to the most experienced players.

Excellent Game. Easily the best of the decade so far (until Black Ops comes out). Story mode = EPIC, special ops = good but frustrating, multi-player = addictive!
9/10
good job infinity ward (fix the spawn system -_-)

I thought this was a horrible game. I don't know how someone could find it hilarious to shoot down innocent soldiers and people. First you show the new recruits how to shoot like a Ranger. Then you take on the Pit with General Shepperd watching. He chooses you to be in his squadron. Next level you're in Afghanistan killing infidels on the bridge and clearing out the town. Third level you do something and kill people. Captain Price isn't dead, you find him in the Gulag. Him being Prisoner 627, thinks you're an enemy and is about to kill you but McTavish recognises the voice and works out its Price. Then Shepperd turns evil and kills Ghost along with Ramirez. He smothers both you and Ghost's bodies with petrol and drops his cigar on you. Then you kill Shepperd when you play as McTavish and Price is your buddy. Also, Nikolai can't land in the Plane Graveyard when you fight Makarov's and Shepperd's men. The XBox Live Experience is fun to play against your friends and just randoms from all over the world.

Its an average game.
single player is great fun for about 1 play through.
online multiplayer is terrible because if your a new person to the game it is very hard to get used too because in the first week there is people that reach around level77 and they Pwn! so no good.
but split-screen is great fun with friends because you have the opportunity to level up, have custom weapon classes and complete challenges.
