GAME's Exchange and Refund Policy
To qualify for the 7 day return policy, the customer must be a current Reward Card Member.  Non Reward Card members will only be offered a refund or exchange in compliance with the Trade Practices Act.
  • Goods may be returned for a full refund or exchanged within seven (7) days, provided they are in a saleable condition and are accompanied by an original receipt. Customers are limited to two exchanges within the seven (7) day period.
  • PC CD-ROM Games, PC DVD-ROM Games, Console Hardware and Accessories are excluded from the 7 day return policy. These products will only be refunded or exchanged in compliance with the Trade Practices Act.
  • GAME reserves the right to refuse refund or exchange if the item is not deemed saleable or is not accompanied by an original receipt.
  • GAME reserves the right to alter or cancel the 7 day return policy without prior notice.
  • Refunds for products returned within seven (7) days with a receipt will be provided according to the same tender type originally tendered by the customer (eg. If a customer paid cash, a cash refund will be given. If a customer paid using a card, the refund will be given to the same card only. If a customer pays using store credit vouchers, the refund will be given as store credit).
  • Refunds for products returned after seven (7) days are at the discretion of GAME and will only be given in the form of store credit.
  • Customers must supply an original receipt and provide proof of identification to be issued with a refund. If a customer refuses to give their name and contact number and/or provide proof of identification GAME may not be able to provide a full refund.

These terms and conditions do not affect your privacy or statutory rights.

We do not normally give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision.

Terms and Conditions - Reward Card Members Only

Eligibility and how to apply for a GAME Reward Card

  1. The GAME Reward Card programme is open to any person who applies for a Reward Card at a GAME store in Australia or online at www.game.com.au. GAME may extend the Reward Card programme at its discretion at any time. If you apply for a Reward Card you confirm that you accept these Terms and Conditions. GAME may refuse an application for a Reward Card in its sole discretion.
  2. If you apply for a Reward Card in a GAME store you will need to provide one of the GAME sales team with your name, email address and postcode. If you apply for a Reward Card online, you will need to create a GAME account and you will be required to input the same information together with a valid postal address.
  3. If GAME approves your application for a Reward Card you will become a ‘Card Holder’ when you receive your Reward Card. Reward Cards are issued by and remain the property of GAME. If requested by GAME, Card Holders must return their Reward Card to GAME or destroy it.
  4. Card Holders are responsible for the security of their Reward Cards and for any Reward Points earned or redeemed ('spent') using it. If your Reward Card is lost, stolen or damaged or a person has gained unauthorised access to your Reward Card, you should notify GAME immediately, either online at www.game.com.au, via Customer Services, or through one of the members of staff at a GAME store, so that GAME can assess whether a replacement card should be issued.
  5. Reward Cards cannot be used as credit cards or guarantee cards.

How to earn Reward Points

  1. Card Holders earn Reward Points on purchases in GAME stores and online at www.game.com.au. To earn Reward Points in a GAME store, the Card Holder must present their Reward Card to a member of the GAME sales team at the cash register at the beginning of the transaction.
  2. Reward Points will only be added at the time of purchase and cannot be added at a later date. It may take up to 7 days for Reward Points to be added to a Reward Card account. Reward Points cannot be earned on purchases made prior to joining the GAME Reward Card programme.
  3. Points are awarded on every purchase, except on the purchase of gift vouchers and gift cards. Other products may be included or excluded at any time, at the discretion of GAME.
  4. Reward Points are not awarded where Reward Points have been redeemed as payment or part payment for a product.
  5. Card Holders will receive Reward Points on qualifying purchases calculated at the rate of 1 Reward Point for every $0.10 spent (rounded up to the nearest whole number, so, for example a purchase for $19.91 earns 200 Reward Points and a purchase for $20.01 earns 201 Reward Points).
  6. GAME reserves the right to vary the rate at which Reward Points are earned (including offering bonus Reward Points from time to time) at any time.

How to redeem Reward Points

  1. Card Holders must activate their Reward Card at www.game.com.au/gameon in order to qualify for the ability to redeem Reward Points.
  2. Card Holders can redeem Reward Points against purchases in GAME stores at a value of $2.00 (inclusive of GST) per 1,000 Reward Points. Card Holders can only redeem Reward Points in multiples of 100 Reward Points. No change or credit will be given for any overpayment using Reward Points. GAME reserves the right to vary the number of Reward Points required to be redeemed against a purchase or to exclude certain products from the GAME Reward Card programme.
  3. Reward Points cannot be redeemed online.
  4. Reward Points cannot be redeemed until they have been registered on a Card Holder's Reward Card. Note that as stated above, it may take up to 7 days for Reward Points earned to be registered on your Reward Card.
  5. To redeem Reward Points against an intended purchase in a GAME store, the Card Holder must present their Reward Card to a member of the GAME sales team at the till at the beginning of the transaction.
  6. Reward Points can be used as part payment towards a product or pre-order in a GAME store.
  7. Reward Points have no cash redemption value. Reward Points are for Card Holder's personal use and cannot be exchanged, sold or transferred to another Card Holder's account. Reward Points can only be redeemed in the country in which the Reward Card is registered.
  8. If a transaction on which Reward Points are earned or redeemed is cancelled or reversed or a product is returned, GAME will reverse the associated Reward Points earned as a credit note.
  9. Reward points cannot be redeemed towards a layby.

Privacy

  1. GAME will collect Personal Information (as defined in the Privacy Act 1998 (Cth)) about you through the GAME Reward Card programme. GAME will collect, store and use your Personal Information in accordance with the Privacy Act.
  2. You consent to GAME using your Personal Information to operate and provide you with benefits under the GAME Reward Card programme and to notify you about GAME products. You also consent to GAME using your Personal Information generally to assist GAME in planning, developing and researching GAME’s product and service offerings.

General

     
  1. The GAME Reward Card programme is operated and promoted by GAME (PO Box 7086, Baulkham Hills, NSW 2153).
  2. The GAME Reward Card Programme is operated by TGW Pty Ltd trading as GAME and is available to all persons who submit a completed application form. It is valid in all stores owned by GAME in Australia and may be extended at the discretion of GAME.
  3. It is the responsibility of the Card Holder to notify GAME of any change to or error in their contact details. Details should be updated online at www.game.com.au/gameon. GAME reserves the right to suspend a Reward Card account if a Card Holder's contact details are incomplete or inaccurate.
  4. GAME reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, or suspend or terminate the GAME Reward Card programme at any time. GAME will notify Card Holders of any changes to these Terms and Conditions by posting notices in store and online at www.game.com.au/gameon. GAME will give Card Holders as much notice of any changes, suspension or termination as it reasonably can. Earning or redeeming Reward Points will constitute acceptance of any amended Terms and Conditions.
  5. Card Holders can terminate their Reward Card accounts on written notice to GAME at any time.
  6. If GAME believes that a Card Holder is in breach of these Terms and Conditions or the Card Holder has abused the GAME Reward Card programme, GAME reserves the right to take any appropriate action, including suspending or terminating the Card Holder's Reward Card account.
  7. If the GAME Reward Card programme or an individual account is terminated (for whatever reason) the Card Holder's (and any household members') rights to earn or redeem Reward Points are lost.
  8. If a Card Holder has not used their GAME Reward Card for a period of 18 months or more, their Reward Card account may be terminated. Card Holders are entitled to reapply for a Reward Card and GAME may, at its discretion, re-award any Reward Points which were held on the Reward Card at the time the account was terminated.
  9. GAME will not be liable for any failure to perform or comply with any provisions of these Terms and Conditions if that failure arises from any circumstance beyond its reasonable control.
  10. These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
  11. Reward Card holders must have an activated GAME ON account for 12 months or more to qualify for “birthday gift”
  12. Commercial buyers and resellers that purchase commercial quantities of product from GAME (‘Commercial Quantities’) are excluded from the GAME Reward Card programme and are not entitled to earn any Reward Points on purchases. GAME will determine, in its sole discretion, what constitutes a Commercial Quantity from time to time.
  13. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales and any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New South Wales courts.

Price Guarantee - Terms and Conditions
  1. For price matching to be considered customers must produce copy of the lower price in the form of a catalogue, newspaper ad or competitor name, address and phone number.
  2. The competitor must be in local proximity to GAME for price matching to be considered.
  3. The competitor must have the item currently in stock for price matching to occur and must be identical, as determined by the manufacturer's model number.
  4. This policy excludes package deals and promotional offers.
  5. Price matching offer is not valid on any clearance lines.
  6. Offer not valid for items found on auction or e-retailers.
  7. Competitor must be selling a new item, not "used", "slightly-used" or "refurbished".
  8. GAME reserves the right to cancel this offer at any time if the item is below cost and reserves   the right to alter Terms & Conditions without prior notice.
  9. All Price Guarantee Conditions above are not valid for GAME.com.au orders.
  10. GAME does not price match our online products with any other retailers prices.

Trade-in - Terms and Conditions
  1. To qualify for Trade-in the customer must be a current Reward Card member.
  2. Photo identification will be required to trade in any item.
  3. Item must be in resalable condition. GAME reserves the right to refuse any item at its discretion.
  4. Item must include all supporting documents and include original DVD case, manual and sleeve.
  5. Consoles must be in full working order & be complete with original controller & cabling.
  6. Handheld consoles must include battery, power supply/charger unit. DS unit must include DS stylus pen
  7. PC titles are excluded from the Trade-in offer.
  8. GAME reserves the right to exclude certain titles from trade.
  9. Accepted formats for trade-in may vary from store to store and from time to time.
  10. Items may only be traded for other items in-store, no cash given. Further to this some states will not be able to provide credit notes - please see your local store for more information.
  11. In the event that a customer wishes to return item(s) that was purchased as part of a trade in transaction/purchase. (ie A purchase where a customer trades his/her games towards another item(s) in store) GAME will offer an exchange for an item of equal value or store credit, where applicable, to the value of the total original purchase. A refund will only be offered in the circumstance that GAME can return the item(s) originally traded, in which case these items will be returned to the customer and the remaining balance refunded.
  12. Items purchased overseas may be refused trade in.
  13. GAME reserves the right to alter Terms & Conditions without prior notice.

Pre-order Promise - Terms and Conditions
  1. A minimum $10.00 deposit is required to secure all pre-orders.
    Deposit is non-refundable.

  2. GAME offers the pre-order promise in good faith based on projected delivery dates and times provided by suppliers. However, unforeseen delivery or production problems may result in new release titles being unavailable or delayed.

Disc Warranty - Terms and Conditions
  1. To qualify for the Disc warranty customers must be a current reward card member and have an original receipt of purchase.
  2. The original receipt must be retained by the customer as proof of purchase and provided to the store when claiming warranty. Without the original receipt no warranty claim can be made.
  3. Disc warranty applies for a twelve (12) month period from date of issue.
  4. Items are exchanged/repaired at the store for the same item only.
  5. The disc is only exchanged; manuals and disc covers remain with the customer.
  6. Disc warranty is a once only exchange/repair within the 12 month period.
  7. If the same item is unavailable in-store a customer order will be placed to secure a working copy.
  8. If the item has been discontinued within the warranty period, customers may choose to have the disc repaired (repair process may take up to four (4) weeks to complete), or replaced with a pre-owned version of the same title under warranty.
  9. Disc warranty is an exchange, repair service and as such, customers are not entitled to refunds.
  10. This guarantee does not cover discs that have been broken, cracked or chipped. Disc warranty applies to the following software formats only:

        PlayStation®3
        Xbox® 360
        Nintendo Wii™
        Nintendo DS
        Sony PSP

Console Hardware Extended Warranty - Terms & Conditions
  1. CONSOLE HARDWARE EXTENDED WARRANTY IS ONLY APPLICABLE IF PURCHASED BEFORE 25 NOVEMEBER 2011.
  2. An original receipt with extended warranty purchase must be provided to claim warranty.
  3. Serial number on original receipt must match the serial number on the machine.
  4. Consoles must not be tampered with or altered from their original state and warranty seals on consoles must be intact.
  5. New consoles are covered by a 12 month warranty from the manufacturer direct. The extended warranty will cover the new console between the 12-24 month period by GAME and will be exchanged in-store.
  6. Pre-owned consoles are covered by a 12 month warranty from GAME. The extended warranty will cover the pre-owned console for 24 months from purchase date and will be exchanged in-store.
  7. New consoles will be exchanged in store for another console during the 12-24 months. Suitable replacements may include pre-owned or refurbished consoles.
  8. Faulty Pre-owned consoles will be exchanged in store for another pre-owned console.
  9. The extended warranty will cover normal wear and tear only.
  10. GAME will not be held liable for the loss of downloaded or stored content in the event of a console malfunction.
  11. Any downloaded or stored content on hard drives is non transferable upon warranty swap.
  12. Extended warranty is non transferable and non refundable.
  13. GAME reserves the right to alter Terms & Conditions without prior notice.

GAME's Gift Card - Terms & Conditions
  • Gift Cards must be redeemed within any GAME Store in Australia, with the exception of Greenhills (not available to be redeemed online at www.game.com.au)
  • Gift Cards are not redeemedable for cash or travelers cheques and will only be up to the value as stated on the Gift Card. The Gift Card does not have a monetary value and can only be exchanged for goods and services.
  • Gift Cards are partially redeemable; however, any unused balance will not be refunded or credited to the participant. It is up to the redeemer to use the full value of the Gift Card within the validity period. 
  • If the beneficiary's order exceeds the amount of the Gift Card, the beneficiary will be required to pay the difference in price between the value of the Gift Card and the retail price for the goods or services. 
  • Gift Cards will expire within a 12 month period, from date of issue, if not used. 
  • GAME will validate and redeem the Gift Card with the Validation Service before the purchase can be completed.
  • Should GAME suspect that any fraudulent activies have taken place in regard to a Gift Card, the value on the Gift Card may be held until investigations have taken place.
  • Whilst precautions have been put in place to try to minimize fraud or unauthorized use, GAME disclaims responsibility for any lost Gift Cards which are redeemed fraudulently. 
  • GAME will not re-issue any Gift Cards that have been lost of misplaced.
  • GAME reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
